Coast of Maine Sprout Island Seed Starter is a compost-based soil that consists of blended sphagnum moss, aged bark, perlite, kelp meal, lobster and crab shell meal, worm castings, and mycorrhizae. This fluffy soil blend provides natural, slow-release nitrogen, moisture retention, and aeration for your seeds and cuttings, effectively “coddling” your plant babies in their earliest stages. After moistening and mixing the Sprout Island Seed Starter with warm water, simply fill your container up to a ¼ inch from the top, tapping to allow the mixed soil to settle, then plant and care for your seeds as directed on their seed packets.
